Coronavirus.... What on Earth is it?

All of a sudden we are back into lockdown level 3 and Room 5 is embracing online learning once again. We thought it would be a great idea to research exactly what a virus  and specifically what coronavirus really is. There is some very interesting scientific language used when learning about viruses and we found this to be challenging.

Here is Cheldyn's wonderful slideshow, he has shown great understanding and has written some awesome explanations all about viruses!

We particularly enjoyed looking into street art that has popped up all over the world, the task was to think about the messages these street artists are trying to share by creating this art.

Then we designed our own art piece on google draw or on paper at home. Check out the slideshow!

  1. Such cool work Cheldyn! I loved reading your own explanation on the last few slides. I never realised that corona means crown in latin - I love learning the meanings/origins of words like that, always helps me to connect and understand them better. Keep up the amazing work!

  2. Cheldyn this is amazing. The visuals are incredible and really grabs the reader. Have you thought about adding voice over so that those that can't read can also understand, I'm wanting to share your mahi with my little ones. It is soooooooo cool!

  7. Hi it's Xanthe from Kaniere School
I like the way you put a picture of a banana at the start of slide one. I like the way that you explained that you spread germs if you cough or wipe your nose with your hand. I like the way that you put in a picture of people spay painting walls to people wearing masks. How did you do it? Why are you proud of it? Bye👍
